Mary Jane Driscoll (President and Director of Tutor Advisory) Mary Jane has been a literacy volunteer since 1989. She has served as the Director of Tutor Training, Director of Tutor Advisory and workshop leader since 1996. She has served as President since 2012.
Ben Hunter (Vice President, interim Treasurer) Ben has been a tutor since November 2011. He is a Best Plus Tester and a Tutor Advisor. Ben joined the board in 2016. He has helped develop our Member and Tutor tracking system and our website. He has been on the Board since 2016 and has served as Vice President since 2020 and Treasurer since 2024.
Roseanne Macari (Director of Marketing and Fundraising) Roseanne joined LVT as a tutor in 2020 and served as Secretary from 2022 to 2024. Roseanne has supported LVT's website, newsletter, correspondence and publicity with her graphic design expertise since 2024.
Nancy Kaufman Panagacos (Director Learner-Tutor Matching) Nancy has been a literacy volunteer since 2013. She was a tutor for two years and has served on the LVT Board as Director of Tutor-Learner Matching since 2015.
Susan Brennan (Director of Tutoring Materials) Susan joined Literacy Volunteers as a tutor in 2013 and has served as Director of Tutoring Materials since 2022. In addition to managing LVT's library, she has participated in LVT's fundraising. She works with the Director of Tutor Training on orientations for new Tutors and has organized Tutor Chat sessions with author Joan Saslow.
Niamh Fitzgerald (Director of Tutor Training) Niamh joined LVT as a Tutor in 2005 and served as a Director at Large from 2016 to 2022. Since 2017, she has been responsible for orienting online trained Tutors. She is a Tutor Advisor and has served as Director of Tutor Training since 2024.
Joan Meade (Director). Joan has been a literacy volunteer since 2008 and a Tutor Advisor since 2009. Joan has served as a Director and editor of the LVT Newsletter since 2016.
Shirley Eng (Secretary) Shirley joined LVT as a Tutor in 2019 and served as a Director at Large from 2022 to 2024. She has served as Secretary since 2024. She has supported the website and nominating committees and has helped with tutoring room enhancements.
Edward Kennelly (Director) Edward joined LVT as a Tutor in 2024. He accepted an appointment as a Director at Large to serve from September 2026 through June 2028.
Sheila Wallace (Director) Sheila joined LVT as a Tutor in 2024 and has been a Tutor Advisor since July 2025. She accepted an appointment as a Director at Large to serve from September 2026 through June 2028.

Barbara Cohen (Library Liaison). Barbara is the bilingual Children’s Librarian at the Warner Library. She has served the community for 23 years providing bilingual children’s services, outreach programs and developing the Spanish language collections. She has served as the Warner Library representative to the LVT Board since 2016.
